Assessment of basalt fabrics with regard to application in professional gloves designed for protection against thermal risk Rafał Hrynyk
Fabrics made of basalt rock belong to technical materials have high resistance against thermal risk; therefore, they can be used in protective gloves. This paper presents test results for basalt fabrics of different mass per square metres. It discusses modifying fabrics, including their aluminization. The scope of laboratory tests included assessing aluminized and non-aluminized fabrics with regard to thermal and mechanical factors. The results of tests confirm high efficiency of basalt textiles that are used in protective gloves.
